Error code U80 / L80
Appliance Wall Oven

Overview

The oven has found a short in the meat probe circuit. The message reads U80 MEAT PROBE on the top or only oven and L80 MEAT PROBE on the bottom oven of a double. The short may be in the probe, in its socket or in the wiring.

Effect on the oven

After readings stay out of range for 60 seconds straight, the control disables the probe. Baking and the cleaning cycle carry on; only the probe settings are lost.

What you can do

  1. Wipe the plug end of the probe so it is clean and dry
  2. Check the socket for food, moisture or anything else that should not be there
  3. If the message returns, call for service

What a technician does

Service tests the socket wiring at the relay board, fits a fresh probe to compare readings, and looks for cable that rubs against the metal housing. Whichever part proves faulty, probe or socket, is replaced.

Ovens affected

Renaissance EOR and MOR models, plus 27-inch and 30-inch single and double wall ovens from the Dacor service manual.

Related codes

  • U43 / L43: another relay board matter, a missing zero-cross signal
  • U70 / L70: lost communication between power and logic boards
