What happens with C74
An E2 checksum failure on the logic board, caused by a read or write error or a faulty EEPROM, wipes the saved user data. The service, factory and preheat offsets are lost too, and defaults take their place.
Is cooking still possible?
Mostly. An error message shows, and a keypress dismisses it. Both cooking and cleaning can go ahead, though personal settings and stored files may have reverted to factory default.
Manual guidance for owners
- Report the incident to customer service by phone, then press a key and continue with the oven.
- Set fresh values for user data such as ADDITIONAL SETTINGS and SAVED GUIDE.
- Should the fault recur, call for service.
A technician saves a new SAVED GUIDE recipe, calls it back up and goes through the settings again, watching whether re-entering them restores normal operation.
Applicable ovens
Touch-glass Dacor ovens, single or double, 27 and 30 inch. The manual leaves the series unnamed.
