Error codeF6 / F-6
ApplianceWall Oven
The short answer
F6 is an EEPROM checksum alarm. While it is displayed, only time of day and the timer function, and Dacor’s remedy is to replace the ERC. That is a control-board job, not an owner repair.
How the checksum works
The oven’s software functions each hold a numerical value.
The ERC sums those values into a checksum.
At every power-up it compares that sum with the number held in memory.
The comparison runs again after each clean cycle.
Any difference produces the F-6 alarm.
Who sees it
Older ERC ovens: CPS/CPD, ECPS/ECPD, CPTS/CPTD, PCS/PCD, MCS/MCD and ECS/ECD. These all belong to the same legacy generation of Dacor oven controls.
Related alarms
F1: the watchdog alarm, also a fault within the control itself
Since the manual calls for a new control, an F6 oven needs a visit; phone (415) 687-5926 for Dacor wall oven repair in the Bay Area. Mention the F6 code and the model number when you call.
Model compatibility: Dacor reuses codes across series and model years, so F6 / F-6 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
