An over-temp display with a probe fault behind it
On the upper or single oven the code is U22, on the lower oven L22, and the screen says OVER TEMP. Despite that wording, Dacor describes a temperature amplifier failure: probe 1 and probe 2 are reporting values more than 50°F apart.
Two situations where the limit is enforced
- As the oven climbs through 75°F to 100°F during cooking or cleaning, the probes may not drift more than 50°F from each other.
- When the center of the cavity sits at 520°F to 600°F, the same 50°F ceiling applies to the cook and clean amplifiers of probe 1 against those of probe 2.
What it points to
A probe that has lost calibration or failed, yet is not open or shorted.
Using the oven meanwhile
Cooking carries on as usual. Self-clean stays off until the code is gone. For the owner, the manual’s instruction is simply to call for service.
What the technician verifies
Whether the probe cables are properly connected, and whether the probes give correct readings on the A/D screen of service diagnostics.
Which ovens
Single and double wall ovens, 27 and 30 inch, covered by the Dacor Wall Oven Service Manual.

Dacor wall oven probe service in San Francisco
For U22 or L22, phone (415) 687-5926 about Dacor wall oven repair in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Have the code, the model number and whether cooking or cleaning was underway.
Model compatibility: Dacor reuses codes across series and model years, so U22 / L22 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
