Reading the display
U34 and L34 are one fault with two prefixes: U for a lone oven or an upper cavity, L for a lower cavity. Probe 3 is reading open, at the top of its range. When that lasts a full 60 seconds beyond the maximum bound, a fatal error is logged.
Sources named in the manual
- a weak connection, either on the relay board or along the harness
- a probe stuck in the open state
- a faulty lead in the harness
Day-to-day use
Because probe 1 stays primary, baking and self-cleaning are both still offered. Temperatures can be affected, so dishes may finish slightly warmer or colder than usual; watch results and treat calibration with care.
Next step
The manual’s instruction is to call for service. On the technician’s side, the plugs on the relay board and the probe at its connector are inspected, and the remedy is a firmer connection, a new probe or a new harness.
Scope
This is based on the Dacor manual for touch-glass models in 27 and 30 inch widths, with one or two cavities. The manual leaves the series unnamed.

San Francisco Dacor oven repair
If U34 or L34 returns, ring (415) 687-5926. Have the code, the oven’s model number and whatever you already tried on hand. Read more at Dacor wall oven repair.
Model compatibility: Dacor reuses codes across series and model years, so U34 / L34 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
