Error codeU30 / L30
ApplianceWall Oven
Decoding U30 and L30
The upper or single oven reports U30 and the lower oven reports L30, with TEMP SENSOR on the display. Both mean the RTD of probe 1 is open. The oven logs a fatal error once the readings stay beyond the maximum bounds for 60 seconds straight.
What still works
Probe 2 is promoted to primary probe.
Cooking remains available, although temperature calibration may be affected.
Cleaning is not available.
The owner instruction is to call for service. The manual adds that you may keep cooking, as long as you remember the oven could run slightly hotter or cooler than normal.
Where the fault comes from
Three sources are named: a poor connection at the relay board or in the harness, a bad probe, and a bad wire in the harness.
Technician checks
Look at the connections on the relay board.
Read the probe state at the probe connector.
Fix in order: secure the connection, replace the probe, replace the harness.
Ovens covered
Renaissance EOR and MOR wall ovens, together with the 27-inch and 30-inch Dacor wall ovens in the service manual.
Bay Area owners can reach out at (415) 687-5926. Mention which oven showed the code and any change you noticed in how it cooks, and keep the model number nearby. Our Dacor wall oven repair entry covers the service side.
Model compatibility: Dacor reuses codes across series and model years, so U30 / L30 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
