About this model

Model overview

Where the RNCT305G fits

Like the RNCT304G, this model is a gas cooktop from the Renaissance series with a manual dated 2015. Check the label and the counter cutout for the size. It is built into a cutout, with connections and controls below.

A step-by-step way to think about a dead burner

A burner needs three things: gas arriving, a spark or glow to light it, and a clean path for the flame. When one is missing, the burner fails, and the problem is to identify which. Gas arriving is confirmed by the valve and the smell test, which we never ask you to do beyond what is safe. Spark is confirmed by listening for the click and watching the igniter. Flame path is confirmed by looking at the cap and port.

  • Click but no flame: suspect the port, moisture or igniter position.
  • No click at all: suspect power, module or switch.
  • Flame lights, then dies: suspect the sensor path or a draft.

Cooking habits that affect it

Heavy simmering with boil-overs fills ports with residue. A wok pushed hard against a cap can shift it. Cleaning with too much water leaves moisture in the base. None of this is anyone’s fault, but each leaves a trace the technician can see, which speeds the repair.

Surrounding installation

A cooktop near an island hood or a downdraft is sensitive to airflow, and a cabinet below that has been filled with deep drawers can leave little room to work. Mention both when you request a visit. Link back to Dacor cooktop repair to see how the day runs.

Owner checks that stay outside

  1. Verify power and breaker.
  2. Reseat every cap carefully.
  3. Let moisture dry.
  4. Check that the gas handle is in the open position.

Gas smell: leave, touch nothing, call the gas utility or 911 from outside.
