Dacor repairSan Francisco & the Bay Area
The ER30G is a gas range from the Dacor Epicure series. Because it burns gas, its problems fall into two groups: those about getting a clean flame, and those about the electronics that run the oven. Keeping the two apart saves time, since a burner that will not light says little about the oven control, and the reverse.
A technician looks at the burner cap seating, the port openings, the igniter and the spark module, and checks the supply to the unit. Spills of sugary food or boiled-over water commonly bridge the igniter, so cleanliness matters, though cleaning is something to do only when the range is cold.
When the oven will not heat, the glow-style igniter or the safety valve in the bake path is often a candidate, along with the oven sensor. If the oven heats unevenly, the technician checks the sensor, the door seal and the convection fan where fitted. For code meanings, see the F31 code page and the F90 code page.
Gas ranges in San Francisco often sit in kitchens that have been remodeled around them, with a flexible connector hidden behind the unit and a shutoff valve in a cabinet or the wall. In older buildings the valve may be stiff or painted over. We ask that you do not force it. Tell us where the valve is, and whether the building needs notice for a shutoff.
If you smell gas, leave the home at once, touch no switches, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Never touch gas fittings yourself.

Yes. The igniters, the oven control and the display all rely on power, so a tripped breaker can make a gas range seem dead.
Usually moisture, food residue or a misseated cap is keeping the flame from catching. If cleaning a cold burner does not help, the igniter or module needs testing.
Usually on the oven frame or inside the door opening. Read it before the visit.
Yes. We plan how the range can be eased out safely and protect the floor and counters.
