Wrong temperature, correct display: the most puzzling complaint about a wall oven.
Dacor repairSan Francisco & the Bay Area
The ECS127 belongs to the Classic Wall Ovens series and is recorded as a wall oven. Whether it is still sold is not listed, so we simply say that many oven owners in San Francisco rely on older built-in units and want them kept going. See also Dacor wall ovens.
If a roast finishes early or a cake sinks, the first suspect is the oven temperature itself. Ovens sense heat with a probe in the cavity, and the control uses that reading to switch heat on and off. A probe that drifts, opens or shorts gives the control a false picture. A few such codes are: C-20 for an oven sensor open or shorted while running, F3 for a shorted sensor and F4 for an open one. In each case the code reports what was sensed, and we confirm the actual fault at the oven.
Bring the notes to the visit. Please avoid placing a thermometer inside and adjusting settings repeatedly on your own, since that can muddy the picture.
Because the oven is flush with surrounding cabinetry, heat has few places to go. A cabinet that has been modified, a shelf installed too close, or a blocked vent can change how the oven behaves. We look at the surroundings as well as the oven.

Use Dacor wall oven repair and have the ECS127 label to hand, normally on the oven frame. A written estimate follows the diagnosis, and no repair begins until you say yes.
An oven that cooks a little off can often be used with care while you wait for the visit, by watching food more closely and avoiding long unattended cooking. If it overheats, shuts off or smells of burning, stop using it. Never place foil on the floor of the cavity to compensate for uneven heat, since that can block airflow and damage the finish.
Uneven results can come from the sensor, a heating element or air movement. We test to find which before recommending any part.
We suggest not adjusting settings repeatedly. A diagnosis shows whether the reading or the heating is wrong.
F3 is a shorted oven temperature sensor and F4 is an open one, each shown when cooking is attempted.
