Dacor Dishwashers

Behind a matching panel or not, the code on the control strip and the label on the door frame get us started.

At a glance

Overview

A Dacor dishwasher is often hidden behind a matching panel, so when it stops mid-cycle the only evidence is a short message on a control strip. That message, together with the model label, tells us most of what we need before we arrive.

Dishwashers

All the dishwashers we list are 24″ units. They are Dacor EDWH24S and Dacor IDWH24 from the Epicure series, plus Dacor DDW24G9000AP, Dacor DDW24M999UM and Dacor DDW24T998US. The model pages record only what we can verify. Many Epicure-era dishwashers are still working in Bay Area kitchens, so older units are welcome.

Where to look for the label

The label is usually on the door frame or the inner edge of the tub, visible when the door is open. If a panel covers the front, the plate remains on the tub side. Take a photo with the door open and the display in the same shot if you can.

Typical complaints

  • Water stays in the bottom. The drain pump, a blocked drain screen or a kinked drain hose can all be responsible. Read dishwasher not draining.
  • Little or no water enters. This is a supply and inlet valve question, covered in dishwasher not filling.
  • Water on the floor. Door seals, spray arm leaks, the inlet connection and the drain hose each leave a different trail. See dishwasher leaking.
  • Dishes come out wet or dull. The heater, the circulation pump or the drying fan may be involved.

Messages on the display

Dacor dishwashers show short codes. The F series reports faults, for example F1 for an inlet valve fault, F3 for a heater fault and F4 for a drain pump fault. The C codes are checks: 3C is a pump operation check, 4C a water supply check and 5C a drain check. LC means a leak was detected, and AP is a smartphone-connection message rather than a fault. The full list is in the dishwasher error codes article and on the error codes hub.

Installation details that change the diagnosis

Built-in dishwashers share the sink cabinet with the disposer, the drain loop or air gap and the supply valve. A drain hose that sags, a loop that sits too low or a disposer knockout plug that was never removed can imitate a pump fault. Panel-ready doors also add weight to the springs. Tell us what is on the hose side and whether the panel was installed recently.

Safe owner checks

  1. Make sure the door latches fully and the breaker is on.
  2. Clean the filter and drain screen at the bottom of the tub, as the manual describes.
  3. Confirm the water supply valve under the sink is open.
  4. Write down the code or message exactly.
  5. Try one controlled power reset.

If water is reaching the floor, shut the supply valve and switch off the breaker before you call.

Reading a pattern in the symptoms

A dishwasher that fails the same way on every cycle tells a different story from one that fails only when the sink has been in use. If the fault appears right after the disposer runs, the drain path deserves attention first. If it appears only on long cycles, heat or the circulation pump may be involved. Keep a note of what you ran, how loaded the racks were and whether anything was spilled, since the technician reads that history alongside the code.
