About this model

Model overview

Dacor lists the IDWH24 as a 24″ dishwasher in the Epicure series with a 2010 manual date. It lives under the counter like most built-ins and relies on a water inlet, a pump circuit and a heater. Here is what usually needs attention.

Model summary

Dishwasher, Epicure, 24 inches, manual (c) 2010. Its sibling, the EDWH24S, has its own page, and the dishwasher lineup gives the wider view.

Typical complaints

  • Standing water after a finished cycle.
  • Cold wash water, so dishes dry poorly.
  • A cycle that stops with a letter code on the display.
  • Water seeping from the door edge.
  • Loud pump noise at the start of a wash.

Background reading: drain trouble, fill trouble and leaks.

What the codes mean

For Epicure and Distinctive 24-inch units, these are the codes. F2 is a circulation pump or drying fan fault, where the controller does not see relay closure on the power board. F3 is a heater fault, with no temperature rise in wash and rinse. F4 is a drain pump fault. F7 is an EEPROM failure. F9 shows a WPS sensor label with no further description in the source. Installation notes

An under-counter dishwasher draws hot water from a nearby valve, drains through a hose tied to the sink drain or disposal, and takes power through a feed in the cabinet. When a remodel shifts any of these, symptoms arrive that look like part failures: a hose that sags, a valve partly open or a loose connection. The technician examines the setup before replacing anything inside the machine.

Owner checks

  1. Check the breaker and the supply valve beneath the sink.
  2. Clean the filter and the drain screen.
  3. Close the door firmly and watch for the latch to engage.
  4. Record the code and make one controlled power reset at the breaker.

Leave the kick plate and the wiring alone. If the machine smells burnt, turn off the breaker.
