About this model

Model overview

Dacor lists the EDWH24S as a 24″ dishwasher in the Epicure series, with a manual dated 2010. It is a built-in unit, normally fitted beside a sink and finished flush with the cabinets. If it stops mid-cycle, leaves water behind or shows an F code, here is how we handle it.

What we know about the model

Dishwasher, Epicure, 24 inches, manual (c) 2010. Beyond this we make no claims about racks, finish or controls. For the whole lineup see the Dacor dishwasher guide.

Faults owners describe

  • Water left in the tub after the cycle.
  • The wash starts late or never fills.
  • Dishes come out cool or wet.
  • A leak under the door or at the toe-kick.
  • A code on the display and a cycle that halts.

Matching articles: not draining, not filling and leaking.

Codes this series can show

Fault codes are covered here for Epicure and Distinctive 24-inch dishwashers. F1 is an inlet valve fault, where no water is detected in the sump after fill. F3 is a heater fault, where no water temperature rise is detected during wash and rinse. F4 is a drain pump fault, where water is still detected in the sump after the drain cycle. F8 is a communication failure between the control board and the power board, with a wet low-voltage connector the most common cause. The full set lives on the Dacor dishwasher error codes page.

Install points that affect the diagnosis

A built-in dishwasher is joined to a hot water supply, a drain hose that often runs through a loop or air gap, and an electrical feed, all behind the toe-kick. A kinked hose after a remodel, a drain loop set too low or a disposal knockout plug left in place can mimic a pump fault. Wet cabinet floors under the unit can also reach connectors and trigger communication faults, so the technician checks for moisture as well as parts.

Checks you can do

  1. Confirm the breaker and the shutoff valve under the sink are on.
  2. Clear the filter and drain screen at the bottom of the tub.
  3. Make sure the door latches fully and the gasket is clean.
  4. Write down the code exactly as shown, then try one controlled power reset at the breaker.

Do not remove the lower panel or work on the hoses and wiring. If you smell burning, shut the breaker off.
